Hmm, I guess it is okay to offend Christians

Fresh from the taxpayer funded Smithsonian Institution’s National Portrait Gallery!

The Smithsonian Institution’s National Portrait Gallery is under fire for hosting an exhibit that is filled with homoerotic art, an image of Ellen DeGeneres grabbing her breasts and a video of Jesus on a crucifix covered in ants, outraging conservative leaders and prompting some Republican lawmakers to call for a congressional investigation.

Incoming House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, said he condemned the use of taxpayer money for the exhibit but would not call for the removal of the exhibit.

"American families have a right to expect better from recipients of taxpayer funds in a tough economy," Boehner said. "While the amount of money involved may be small, it’s symbolic of the arrogance Washington routinely applies to thousands of spending decisions involving Americans’ hard-earned money at a time when one in every 10 Americans is out of work and our children’s future is being threatened by debt. Under pressure from outraged taxpayers and calls by members of Congress to investigate its funding, the National Portrait Gallery at the Smithsonian Institution removes a controversial video exhibit entitled 'A Fire in My Belly' — which includes a depiction of Jesus on the cross being eaten by ants.

Opting out of telling the whole story

While we were led to believe the opt-out protest was a huge bust, maybe there was a bit more to the story. Like how do you opt-out of a trip through the McLeery Scan if you're never asked to go through it?

Via Redstate "While we were there urging the public to opt out for five hours, the line moved very fast. What we observed was that not one person was asked to go through the machine. We did not see anyone being patted down after going through the gun detector machines either.

The media spun the whole Opt Out Day as a failure because the media failed to investigate whether the TSA was using these machines that day and if these enhanced’ pat downs were being done."

With all the recent hubbub of the Tea Party, who wouldn't want to jump aboard the party barge? But if you ask me, that vote is already pretty damn powerful - if you have any doubts, just wait til election season, then slam a shot of tequila every time you hear the words "latino vote".

Sarah Palin points out hypocrisy in the media

Love her or hate her Sarah Palin does make a good point when she brings up the double standard with the way the media reports stories on her vs. Obama. With a recent facebook post she cleverly lists quite a few Obama gaffes which for some reason the media didn't pick up on. Now it could have been they were in the middle of Photoshopping his picture on MT. Rushmore or simply too busy finding Obama memorabilia to fill their hope chest with but either way when Obama makes a mistake the media is harder to find than a tree hugger at Bath and Body Works or the soap aisle in any given store. When Palin makes a mistake the media pounces on it like it's the last Chinese baby at the adoption agency....
